A leader who lacks capability often avoids surrounding themselves with those who are more competent.
Why? Because having someone better nearby highlights their own shortcomings and may even feel like a threat.
As a result, they choose to work only with people who are less capable or simply obedient.
But when a group is built on compliance rather than competence, its growth is limited from the very beginning.
Unfortunately, it’s not just the leader who suffers—everyone within the group ends up paying the price.
A true leader is someone who is not afraid to acknowledge talent, even when it surpasses their own.
Only then can a team, and the organization as a whole, truly thrive.
