While they are referred to as volunteers, it’s worth reflecting on what their actions are truly supporting. Are they working for a Korean Association that is widely respected and transparent, or are they serving as part of a group that protects the interests of a select few?
If they are genuinely volunteering for an association that serves everyone, who wouldn’t welcome their efforts? But calling it "volunteering" while pressuring others to pay membership fees? We don’t even know how those fees are being used or for whose benefit.
When the general assembly—a space that should be open for all Korean community members—is physically blocked, denying members the right to vote for the organization's leader, can the Korean Association truly be called a group that represents the community?
I’m curious to know who these volunteers are. If they are genuinely volunteering for the benefit of the Korean community, they should have attended the general assembly held outside and ensured that the Korean Association president was properly elected.
